Legendary opera superstar Frederica von Stade (Flicka to friends and fans) returns to Minnesota! Her September 12 - 20 tour includes open masterclasses, intimate evenings with wine and cheese or dinner and three vocal-piano recitals to raise funds for various nonprofits in Minnesota. This tour is produced by the award-winning global nonprofit, Listen For Life, which has just moved its US headquarters to the Twin Cities! (New volunteers are always welcome.)

Masterclasses at the University of Minnesota School of Music
Lloyd Ultan Recital Hall (inside Ferguson Hall), University of Minnesota West Bank campus
Two masterclasses at University of Minnesota's School of Music with Frederica von Stade and pianist Martin Katz:
9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Masterclass led by Martin Katz featuring collaborative piano students; Frederica von Stade will be a guest commentator for the singing participants.
2:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Masterclass led by Frederica von Stade featuring vocal division students; Martin Katz will be a guest commentator regarding collaborative piano.
These classes will be open to the public at no charge, but RSVP is requested.

Raison d'Être Opéra Fundraising Dinner and Meet-and-Greet
Mary Tyler Moore House, Minneapolis
Join us for a special evening! Raison d'Être Opéra will host this intimate fundraising dinner with Frederica von Stade and Martin Katz at the Mary Tyler Moore House. This event is available as part of a package of events that benefit the opera company. Saturday, September 14, 7:30 p.m. in Minneapolis
Benefit Concert for Raison d'Être Opéra, along with Groveland Food Shelf and Sunday Night Supper
St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Minneapolis
Frederica von Stade and pianist Martin Katz will perform a concert to open the music season at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral. Ticket sales will benefit Raison d'Être Opéra programs for singers over 55, and the opera company has generously agreed to share a portion of the proceeds with Groveland Food Shelf and the cathedral's Sunday Night Supper. Following the concert, there will be a meet-and-greet reception with the artists. Varied ticket prices, seat locations and packages are available. Sunday, September 15, 3:30 p.m. in Rochester
Benefit Concert for Family Promise Rochester
Christ United Methodist Church, Rochester
Family Promise Rochester is an organization that helps families experiencing homelessness. The benefit concert will be performed by Frederica von Stade and pianist Martin Katz, and will be hosted at Christ United Methodist Church in downtown Rochester. Tickets range from $20 to $50, and proceeds benefit Family Promise Rochester. Click on the button below for tickets.
Monday, September 16, 7:00 p.m. in Stillwater
Benefit Concert for Valley Outreach (homelessness prevention and assistance) and St. Croix Valley Opera Co.
Trinity Lutheran Church, Stillwater
Frederica von Stade and pianist Donna Stoering will perform a 70-minute recital as part of Trinity Lutheran Church's concert series in Stillwater. Concert proceeds will benefit Valley Outreach services for people experiencing homelessness, and a portion of the proceeds will help St. Croix Valley Opera Co. Vocal Masterclass to benefit Raison d'Être Opéra
Sundin Hall, Hamline University, St. Paul
Frederica von Stade will give a 2-hour masterclass with pianist Donna Stoering at Hamline University's Sundin Hall.

"One on One" with Flicka, a benefit for Project Home
Wells Pianos, St. Paul
An intimate evening hosted and sponsored by Wells Pianos in St Paul. The evening includes a sample vocal masterclass session featuring two young professional sopranos, and a 30-minute recital by Frederica von Stade and pianist Donna Stoering. After the recital, a special guest will open a wine and cheese reception with the artists. This event is capped at 50 people. Tickets cost $100, and all proceeds go to Project Home, which provides 24/7 support for families facing homelessness in greater St. Paul. Click on the button below for tickets. Vocal masterclass

Frederica von Stade will give a 2-hour masterclass at St. Olaf College in Northfield, with pianist Donna Stoering. This event is free and open to the public.
