Notes for Nourishment (NFN) projects, all founded by musicians and for musicians, have been happening for over 17 years now in multiple cities, countries, and continents.
So many musicians have a heart of service and want to use their gifts with a sense of purpose, but not all of us have training or experience in concert production, marketing, programming, or organizing outreach projects that help others through music. Through NFN, those of us who do have experience in these areas can share that expertise, mentor other artists, and make it possible for many more musicians to use their skills in the service of helping others. NFN concerts are where renowned musicians of all ages and cultures donate their time and talents to nourish their audience in free one-hour programs while donations are collected to benefit a cause chosen by the performer(s). This gives musicians the chance to share their gifts, not only feed their listeners, but to help causes they care about and to establish long-lasting connections with nonprofit organizations that nourish the hungry, hurting and homeless in their specific communities.
NFN Live
Our Notes for Nourishment concerts thus far have involved over 65 performers worldwide, and have succeeded in raising significant funds for more than 45 different nonprofits, organizations and causes. Now, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we are moving the concerts ONLINE with livestreamed events that enable more artists to share their gifts and raise donations online for the causes they care about. Please join us!
Our next NFN ONline concert will be April 2, 2021 - we're inviting everyone to join us in the virtual launch event for our new partner project, People's Choir of Oakland! This event will be part of our NFN series, but will be hosted on PCO's new dedicated YouTube channel so stay tuned here for the link!
Music is communication. Music is healing. Many of us (musicians) feel the desire to employ our gifts in the service of healing communication, especially during the effects of Covid-19, by sharing music in these 4 types of locations:
Hospice Centers
Nursing Homes
Hospitals/ICUs
Shut-In's (Seniors isolated in their homes during this pandemic)
To the people that have been most directly affected by Covid-19, we will be offering:
LIVE personal one-on-one virtual phone-concerts for patients and individuals in any of those situations, featuring an ever-expanding roster of generous performers wanting to share presence and communication in this way, both through music and meaningful conversation.
Free access to a CD of specifically-recorded music that is being used successfully in hospice centers and ICU units to help Covid-19 patients calm and regulate their breathing, and also in hospital lobbies and nursing homes to help caregivers feel nourished and healed as well.
Please contact us if you are:
A musician wanting to serve in this outreach capacity for individuals online worldwide
A director or decision-maker at a hospice center, nursing home, hospital, etc wanting to take advantage of our CD or our individual one-on-one virtual performance offers
A friend or neighbor who knows of a lonely senior who might appreciate conversation, whether verbal or musical, in their day
