Listen For Life Presents: Minnesota Celebrates Flicka!
in collaboration with Schubert Club
Legendary opera superstar Frederica von Stade (Flicka to her friends) is returning to sing for her many longtime fans here in Minnesota!
Her brief tour, September 12-20, will include open masterclasses, fundraising (pay per plate) dinners to benefit local music organizations, and three vocal-piano recitals to raise funds for various nonprofits of the region. This tour is being produced and coordinated as a project of the award-winning global nonprofit, Listen For Life (L4L), which has just moved its US headquarters to the Twin Cities! (New volunteers and admin assistants always welcome!)

Masterclasses at the University of Minnesota School of Music

Two masterclasses at University of Minnesota with Frederica von Stade and pianist Martin Katz:
9-11am
Masterclass led by Martin Katz featuring Collaborative Piano students; Frederica von Stade will be present as a guest commentator for the singing participants.
2:30 - 5pm
Masterclass led by Frederica von Stade featuring Vocal Division students; Martin Katz will be present as guest commentator for the collaborative piano considerations on these particular vocal/piano scores.
These classes will be open to the public at no charge, but RSVP is requested.

Concert proceeds will benefit the Valley Outreach services for those experiencing homelessness, and a portion of the proceeds will also help St Croix Valley Opera Co. Flicka will remain on the stage for an informal 30 minute question-answer period with the audience.
